The Bulgarian Ministry of Education and Science took important steps for assuring quality vocational education and training of resources for priority business sectors with low interest of students.
In 2018 with a Decree of the Council of Ministers were determined demarcation between protected specialties from professions and specialties from professions with expected shortage of specialists on the labor market.
In the beginning of 2019 Ministry of Education and Science suggested in addition to accept protected specialties from professions for the next school year to be added new 14 specialties with focus on the sectors of machinery, electronics, automation and transport.
The new specialties in the “List of State-protected specialties from professions” and “List of specialties from professions with expected shortage of specialists on the labor market” are suggested from the branch ministries and business organizations.
